Sounds like you are wanting the whip antenna's that were on the pre '08 bikes (cannot recall for sure when they started putting the shorter antenna's on). But, one thing to keep in mind is that your CB radio is tuned for the shorter antenna. You may want to keep that in consideration. It's called a trim adjustment and you might want to check into that before chaning out the CB antenna. It has a coil on it and your CB has to be tuned to that.

Actually, it's called SWR or standing wave ratio. And the antenna is tuned to a specific wavelength.

The 08's still had the long whips I just put mine back on after running the shorter Harley ones for a year.
For reference
They just clip the garage door opening when pulling in (7 ft)
And the antennas themselves are 48 1/2 in

You're right....Looked it up on Bing....Back in the '70's, I'd heard this referenced as setting the "trim" on an auto CB. Dating myself, I know

Look at it this way.... I actually remembered it .... hows that for dating yourself.

Quote from Robin Williams "dating yourself, is knowing whether or not, you're going to get some at the end of the night"
