spence222 have you considered what the root cause of the problem that created the overheat of the switch is?
I would call your event a "serious near miss" incident.

Very odd event -- and I haven't read or heard of anything like this B4.

There was a SB on 2006 Touring bike ignitions. If your bike never had it replaced you might get it done for free if it still qualifies. In any event be sure to get the latest version.

Like V2Evo96 said, I too would want to know what caused it because the condition might still exist causing it to happen again.

My main fuse "broke" 10 days ago - glad it wasn't melted! Hubby found a replacement at the local VIP.

Sorry - just reread the OP and now see that you are looking for the Switch, not the fuse (gotta admit that I was confused that you couln't find the fuse anywhere!).
