On a few occassions I heard the dragging and thought it was cool until I realized it is the bracket hitting vs. the floorboard which pivots. I don't want something fixed hitting the road which could lift the bike in a turn. They may never cause a problem but I'm not willing to take that chance. Just my 2 cents.
With an '07, you have the luxury of being able to raise your footboards about 1/2". It might help with your clearance issue.
It looks like the back of floorboard scraped but the bracket hit also. I was riding two up and probable 45 mph in a tight right hand decreasing radius turn. The floorboard didn't come up very much as I don't remember having to kick it down.
The brand of extender isn't visible and if it is, its not the HG brand I just bought. It looks like the extender might be the entire are as apposed to a 1" shim like HG sells which could prob explain why so far I have not scrapped my boards. Either way, how much further did this kit push your boards out?
I've got 'em, never had a single problem and loving every moment my boots rests on them floorboards. BTW, Harleys aren't deigned or made to ride like the Crotch Rockets making steep turns.
Yeah.. I was just thinkin' you may just want to invest in those knee pucks the sport bike rider's wear. Then ya can get a knee down in the corners before grindin' up your bike parts!
I think I got them on e-bay, not Harley Goodies but that shouldn't make a difference.
Well it depends if it pushes em straight out, or out then up, or out then down a little. The Goodies pushes em out then up and slightly back. I'm sorry to hear and see what's happened, damn nothings cheap on our bikes! I would try a different brand before giving up.
I have had mine for a couple months from Harley Goodies, they also scrape the mounts not the floor board. Almost wiped out a couple times. So I now have to pay close attention when cornering. They are comming off as soon as i can find something different.

Really, I'm on my phone so I can't see what kinda bike your on. There's a rise to a corner as I'm coming around my block and if the boards were going to drag that woulda been a good place for it. I've only done 10 miles just poking around the neighborhood testing out my oil cooler for leaks so I havnt gotten out there but I don't expect to take corners any deeper than what I have so far. I used to ride sport bikes and when I went to cruisers I ended up dumping because I was so used to really leaning into corners, the ergo and tires are not built for that.

The picture on the bike is without the extenders. The ones I had on were a nylon spacer and a round spacer 1" with longer bolts so they just pushed the bracket out. The pictures are of the right side spacers where I hit. I'm not trying to knock the product or idea I just wanted to warn what could happen. Ocassionally a corner will come in on you and you have to get her down further than your normal riding style. SOOS, I could raise the bracket but that would defeat the purpose, I'll just live without them.
i have stock floorboards and brackets on my Ultra. The floorboards have neery a scratch on them, the right floorboard bracket though, i've drug a couple of times in quick-closing corners up in arkansas last year and it shows. I'll get a pic tonight and post it later.
