Default Removed Floorboard Extensions

On a few occassions I heard the dragging and thought it was cool until I realized it is the bracket hitting vs. the floorboard which pivots. I don't want something fixed hitting the road which could lift the bike in a turn. They may never cause a problem but I'm not willing to take that chance. Just my 2 cents.

so you're saying your boards folded up and the extensions scraped? I guess I'm have a hard time visualizing any other way.

I agree, I'd never want an immovable object hitting the ground either.

I put em on a week or so back and been test driving it while tweeking in my oil cooler and I was worried about board drag but surprisingly it hasn't happened yet and I been riding it my usual way which is usually deep in turns. I came from a Yamaha cruiser that had boards that stuck way out and it draged all the time to the point that it came with skid plates integrated into the board.
To upset the bike enough to knock you over you'd have to bury the board into the ground, it just sounds worse than it really is. I'm guessing HarleyGoodies put some research into the kit before putting it into production. How bad were you dragging to make you take em off?

Sounds like you are saying that your floorboards do not touch the road at all? If that is the case, I don't believe it.

Damn,I've hit the boards a couple times but never the bracket. Was there a huge bump involved?

It looks like the back of floorboard scraped but the bracket hit also. I was riding two up and probable 45 mph in a tight right hand decreasing radius turn. The floorboard didn't come up very much as I don't remember having to kick it down.

I think I got them on e-bay, not Harley Goodies but that shouldn't make a difference.

You got a weird kind of extension there.
Mine pivot with the boards, the main support bracket are not extended.

I use the goodies, the floorboards are a little roughed up, but there is not a scratch on the mounts.
