My 2011 FLHTK is lowered front and back. With extensions on it touches down on the brackets prior to hitting the floorboards. Mine are ground down fairly bad on both sides. I have adjusted my riding style and have not ground them in a while. This is the first bike that has hit the brackets before the boards but it does for sure.

BTW - I have also scratched the x-pipe as well.

Is your bike lowered at all???????

I have a stock 08 Ultra with the Soos 1in extenders, have lightly scraped the footboards but never the bracket, Oh Yeah I did scratch the bracket two times, but that is when I dropped the bike

I had them on my 07 sg and I too thought it was cool to scrape the pegs. Then on day when the old lady and I were on a sharp sweeper it lifted the bike and dug into the pavement layed it down and totaled the bike. I'm all set with the floorbord extions on my 10sg.

I scraped the skid plates on the floorboards several times when I had my 2006 Road Star. Although I was aware of the eventuality of touching down (this is a known issue with the Road Star), it was still very unsettling the first time it happened.

For reasons of personal comfort, I installed the Soos Floorboard Extensions kit soon after I purchased my new 2011 SG. I don't regret it.

I'm not a very aggressive rider, so I have not had an issue. I tend to consider myself as a "cruiser", in the true sense of the word.

I don't think you'll go down by scraping the mounts or boards in a curve or turn. If you make a hard fast turn as if it was in a panic the mount may hit the ground and cause the bike to lift or slow the bike down making it unstable an could bring a bike down. I have and 09 SG that has been lifted in the rear with longer shocks. I don't have board extensions either and I grind the mounts and boards all the time. If I make a really hard and sharp u-turn the bike with hit hard on the mount and bottom out. Getting on the gas keeps the bike upright.

Here are mine. I think you'll be fine if that's all you scrape them.

I have had the same issue and actually teetered a wheel off the ground... Luckaly I saved her from laying on her side... If you have the adjustable floor boards there are 2 settings.. if you put them on the highest setting you won't have the problem...

That is what I did... But... I think I am going to remove them because I feel crammed and need to move them back to the lower setting...

I currently have 1" on both sides... I think I am goign to give 1/2" a try... I have Rinehart True Duels so I have to have 1/2" on the Right Side... Figure I will get the left to match too...

After reading this thread yesterday I looked at mine today because I seem to scrape at least once a day. After looking under my bike all I see is where my floorboards have scraped on the rear outside edge but absolutely nothing on the mounts. I'm running the Harley Goodies & everything seems to be fine.
