Pledge works great on the darker colors no issues with using it on pinstripes. Simplest way to put the shine on the bike and especially easy to find when on trips - as most grocery stores and Walmart carry it.
Tried them both, like the black box on my black Ultra, the pledge works but leaves streaks, ya have to come back after 15 mins to get it right with another wipe down. Pledge works great on my sunglo ultra. Black box is expensive, they should sell that detailer separately.
Had the same problem with streaks a couple times on the black. I can't say for 100% because I haven't done a scientific test, but my theory is the streaks are related to how much other wax you have left on the paint. No other wax at all, the pledge works well.
To avoid streaks....don't put too much on there,..... LIGHTLY spray / mist the area, buff it in, then flip the cloth over and buff it to a shine....then flip the cloth again, and go to the next spot..
Will it streak up chrome? Do you spray it on a micro fiber then wipe or directly on the bike? Seems like sparying directly would cause an overspray problem? How about exhaust, any issues there?
Lemon Pledge has been used on MC's since at least 1990. I found it worked super on my Bright Candy Ruby paint on a Softail, but not so good on the Vivid Black FL I have now.
You just have to buff it a little more with the micro cloth. It still works and lasts better than wax (tried it and I'm back).
I tried it a couple years ago before a long ride. Ended up getting ragged on by some friends for it. Until later that evening when my fairing was clean, and theirs were covered in bugs...
Another household remedy, not as big an issue on bikes but rather for cars, the dried up bug guts. Ive tried everything, they all work to some degree but all of them require a LOT of elbow grease. Get a clothes dryer sheet, moisten it (not soak), rub over bug juice area, the stuff comes off like magic! I always thought.........BULL.............until I tried it.
Havent tried the pledge yet but I sure as hell will.

the key is to use a slight mist....too much pledge and it will streak....then you have to go over it with a fine mist and buff to remvoe the streaks.
Overspray isn't a problem....just buff it in. I love it, becuase it makes everything look new and stay new....brake lines, cables, everything.
