Make them rotate up and down and you will be set.
Yes, they make a big difference to me.
If it turns out with the same quality as your windshields, it will be great.

Capt Itch crotch coolers do this, I just push them upward under my legs at night when it gets cold, no need to take them off.

Just a thought . . .
I have a 2010 UC that came with the heat shields. I had an adjustable backrest installed at the dealer at the time of purchase. My lever is on the left side just under the shield. As I never did the install, I can't say how big a job it was but it can be done, at least on the newer style frame.

Just put the HD one's on. No issues with install. I do think they make a noticeable difference. I don't care for the looks of the leather type. Someone here painted their HD shields to match their paint and they look great. I lucked out. They are a flat black and a very good match with the denim black paint.

[quote=jlacasci;8820384]I've had mine on my bike since 2005. One of the best mods I've done. And I think I have the best looking version of these out there. RJ's Originals. I'm not affiliated with them, but I think RJ was the first, no doubt (in my opinion) the best looking by FAR!!!! They look like they are part of the bike and not thrown on as an after thought like everyone else that came late to the game.
RJ's is a high quality product that does exactly what they are supposed to do. If my memory is correct they are made by US vets. Since so many companies are making these things I wish you the best of luck. Not sure how you could improve on the look or function of RJ's, perhaps on price?

Best of luck,
Joe[/quote

+1 RJ Orignals are the best looking. He hand makes each one, plus they are not made of plastic which could crack or break.

Here are some picture of my RJs Original No More Fried Thighs deflectors right after they were mounted. I have noticed a major improvement with the hot air movement this summer since installation.

I dont think you can make any improvements over the fit, form and function that hes already done

I think there's always room for a new product. Who's to say there can't be/ won't be an improvement over something that already exists . Certainly people have different tastes and ideas as to what is the best. Take RJ originals and make something similar in shape and fit but to paint match. That would be cool.
