Trailer wiring harness
Can someone explain to me why I need to use this Isolation relay and the 5 to 4 wire adapter? Why can't I just splice the 4 pin harness in behind my load equalizer and be done with it? I just do not see where I am going to stuff all this wiring/relays under the seat/side panels. I already have Load equalizer, remote unit for ground effects lighting and the audible alarm horn.
My bikes lights are ALL led.......I just think I should be able to splice into the light wires and be done, where is my thinking off?
Thanks for the help,
Jimbo

And I believe the reason you need the adapter is because you bike has separate brake and turn lights.
If you have you changed the rear turn signal lamps to dual filament bulbs this might change the need for the adapter. Otherwise you have to have it.

thanks to your link vtzs4q I think I'd rather use......http://ridetimetechnology.com/trailx.htm
Then I had to add a hitch & wiring. I didn't think I had room either. I got the isolator module from the people I got the hitch from and it was indeed plug n' play and I DID find space along the frame to mount the extra "stuff" out of sight. As I was tweaking my installation and trailer wiring I did pop the isolator fuse so it was doing it's job properly. I think if it weren't for that being installed it would have popped more (important) fuses and possibly left me with no lights and/or burnt wiring.
Good luck, happy trailering
