Default Thank you Thundermax

Well after a day and a half as I took my time to do this right.
She has come to life again, or should I say for the first time.
Let me explain..... I bought the bike used, 2009 Street glide with a stage one, it was nice but not Harley nice, it was slow to respond, very rough idle when cold, and the heat was unreal on the right side. So after reading
a crap load of posts about the Thundermax with the Auto tune; I finally pulled the trigger and orderd everything I needed to make this bike live up to her potential.
After installing the 12" bagger bars, doing the clutch cable and the brake line, and the V&H true dual headers, it was time for the ECM. I was extremely nervous, but took my time, step by step. Got it all installed, updated the firmware, then loaded a tune into the Thunder max. after all was done and she was ready to come back to life,I counted to three held my breath and pressed the start button. not only did she start but NO ROUGH IDLE. I let her warm up and took her for a spin......now I can call her a Harley, extremely snappy responsive, little to no back popping, way cooler on the right side, and pulls hard through the whole RPM range; Every gear she just wants more, I can't get the smile off my face.
Anyone that is on the fence about doing this, jump off the fence and get on it, it will give you a whole new bike.
Thank you Thunder Max

Here is my T-Max story. Bought a 2007 Deluxe in 2009 had the local stealer!! install stage 1 with Rush slip-ons and SE air filter...also purchased the SE interface and Dyno Tune to to get the "great running bike" as the stealer said. Two years later, 4 dyno tunes, one of which the timing was off so far I was afraid to drive it, and an argument every time I tried to work with the stealer, I was disgusted. The 3rd dyno was the one that scared me, the second scared my wife with backfiring,...the stealer refused to check the timing after a heated showroom argument, ,he agreed to check in front of me and I would never return if he was right and the timing was ok. I agreed...and watched as the computer showed timing was off 9deg under load, and like every time I came back the service manage hung his head walked away and said nothing...once again he did that on 4 occasions, never an apology. I asked for my $$$ back and was refused!! Even though the 4th tune was still terrible. I was going to sell the bike as I hated riding it and didn't want to throw more $$$ at it!! Before hand I discussed the problems and sale with my wife and explained I had one more option..spend the additional $$$ and try the T-Max. With all the money already thrown down the drain, we decided to try the last option. Bought the Thunder-Max and installed it myself including the Map...it immediately ran much better...and self tuned to run even better over the next couple of months. After a year the people at Thunder-Max updated my Map and suggested it would improve the ride even more. At that point I got an occasional decel pop and occasional sput through the throttle body...so I went for the new Map. Initially the new Map increased HP noticeable and the throttle body sput was much improved but it now popped on decel when hot. I wrote T-Max and "G" responded requesting a download...did this twice with him and the bike now runs like it should have from day one. T-Max was responsive and helpful, never told me I didn't know what I was talking about...never tried to embarrass me into leaving them alone...just fixed the issues one at at time and left me a happy customer!! Buy this product day one...don't mess with the stealer even if they have a good tuner...if you change anything down the road you sill have to go back for another tune and the $$$ for a dyno. For less $$$ than the interface and dyno-tuner you can have a onboard tuner that adjusts on the fly and a team of people who care and help. When is HD going to learn the market has changed and they are no longer going to get away with treating the customer like they are doing them a favor to sell them anything..even if it doesn't work. I was very sick when this all happened or I would have taken the stealer to court, but I pretty sure the time limits are up. They effectively they stole about $900 from me and had no problem treating a customer who's family has bought 12 HD's from them over the years...THEY LOSE as we have 5 brothers and a few cousins who ride who are now telling this story to anyone who will listen!! We are all moving our future purchases!!

I have to agree what these gentlemen are saying about the Thundermax. I bought my 08 Ultra with used with 3700 miles on the clock with an aftermarket exhaust and a Screaming Eagle air filter. The idle was up and down constantly,no throttle response whatsoever, popping through the exhaust in every gear on decel and unbearable heat roasting my thighs. I had an indy install the Thundermax and do the tuning. After almost 1000 miles it is like a whole new bike. Smooth idle, instant throttle response, very little popping on decel and the heat has disappeared from the right side completely. The indy wants me to bring it back once for for a final tune. Dont really think it could run any better. The Thundermax was money well spent in my opinion.

Add another happy T-Max customer! Had one on my '07 Night Train and just waiting on my head pipes to show up before addin' one in my Street Glide. I'll never again do the piggyback type tuners. Thunder Max's auto tune does fantastic job keeping the bike in tune to the point of pure ecstasy! Plus you can put the stock ECU on the shelf for emergency back up... or re-coup some of the money spent on mods. For the four years I ran one in the 'Train I never had a problem and the stock ECU just collected dust on the shelf...

I have to agree with how the Thundermax has performed on my '08 Ultra Classic with a SE Stage II 103 ci kit in it. I have been using it for 1.5 yrs now.

Here is a story of their great customer support.

I was on week 2 of a 4 week ride across the Western US. The bike was running fine and then it started missing, hesitating, etc. I called and emailed ThunderMax. This was in the middle of Hurricane Irene hitting the East coast. An engineer with ThunderMax saw my email and responded to me quickly. He first told me how to turn off the auto tune function so it would run fine and it it did (so it was in open loop mode). I then emailed him some logs, etc, from the bike and he figured out over the weekend (how's that for customer service) the issue to be an front O2 sensor had gone bad. ThunderMax express shipped new O2 sensors, harness, and module (basically a whole new system) out to me where I was going to be in a couple of days. It was there when I got there, I replaced the O2 sensor, put it back into closed loop mode, and everything ran fine.

When you buy a product like this, it is not just the product and how it functions that make you a loyal customer but their customer service that keeps you. I was really impressed that an engineer at ThunderMax monitors the logs, called me up, got me going, figured out the issue on a weekend, and shipped me out a new system to keep me going.

They have won me as a loyal customer.
