We made to Reno... This morning when we left Burns it was if nothing had ever happened.. Everything worked...for about 300 miles. Then this afternoon..it dumped again. Makes me think the temperature might have something to do with it..90+ degrees both days. I'm going to wait till I get home to fix it...

Mine was doing the exact same thing and all it was was a dirty speed sensor. Took five minutes to pull it and clean it off. No problems in three years.
I live in Reno if you need some help just let me know I also have a trailer if you brake down. Also my 09 had a problem with the plug down below the frame on the side under the oil filter. Turns out when on vacation in oregon we hit rain and the plug got wet I unplug it hit it with WD40 and back on the road.

I was under the impression that the starter needed to be removed in order to gain access to the speed sensor and maybe the cross-over on the exhaust..?
Had a great time in Reno this weekend...Looked at a lot of bikes. It seems that on a 5 speed transmission the speed sensor is easily accessed ,however on the newer 6 speed it is under the starter which will have to be removed.
