Default Need Help- Electrical Problem

My 2002 Road King (FLHPI) is blowing fuses for the brake lights and speedo. Can anyone give me any ideas on where to start looking for what might causing the problems.

I'm at work so I don't have any manuals with me and limited tools. I have a run-brake-turn module installed. I thought I would disconnect to rule that out.

Any and all help is appreciated.

probably your turn signals also.

check under the left side of your fuel tank....wires exit out the bottom of the tank for the fuel guage....sometimes this wire rubs on the front rocker box cover and chafs the wire and wammo.....That circuit for all that you describe is all in one....I had one that wouldnt do it at idle but when the speed or rpm was up it vibrated a different way, it would rub and pop the fuse every time....took me hours to find it.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

if you can. look at the fuse.

if it looks like the internal fuse wire just melted and sagged- that indicates a circuit overload.

if the fuse material is splattered and you see soot inside, that indicates a short circuit such as described above

Thanks just checked that. Wire to the fuel gauge looks good and the fuel gauge is working.
