it's easy to do a spotless oil change, all you gotta know is the tricks. using an ice pick type of steel punch at the end of the oil filter, one hole high and one low. the low one to drain the filter, the one at the top of the end of the oil filter, so the air will vent allowing the filter to drain completely. tuck rags or paper towels between the filter and motor cases, take care and you too can someday do a dripless oil change.

While the filters off I try to get in there with a few paper towels and do my best. In, up, under etc.....still get a hidden drip or two on another fresh set of paper towels that I put under her just to be sure I got it all. My wife won't let me park her in the living room without a fresh set of paper towels. Oh well.....

i gave up trying to do a spotless oil change. i drain my oil...do the best to not cause a mess when removing the filter. after new filter and fresh oil installed i back my bike out and spray entire area with castrol super clean and then flush with water.doesnt take 5 minutes and i save a roll of paper towels.
