This is what I did on my 2010 RG and will do the same on the new SG...
Solo detachable mount, chopped box....left it on most of the time but did have the option to remove it....
Would be lost without my tourpac.
It gives me the option to do a lot of things with my bike. And I can tote more things I need.
You can git a removable tourpac, But when you go out you will be wishin you had it back on
If you git one get one for a Ultra. It has lights in the tourpac.
I like the tourpac rack on my Limited.
If I took my tourpac off, My wife would be askin me to put it back on.
She likes to lay against it and put things in it.
By all means...My buddy bought an 08 UC and added the quick detach brackets...He has yet to take the TP off....He thought he would never use it...Stated the other day, "Wow, this sure comes in handy".....
If you decide to get the Harley TP I have the permanent mount rack & chrome rail covers I would let go for $75.00. They are like new. Came off my 2010 FLHTCU. PM me if interested.
