I called my dealer today (Canada) and they didn't have any info on it in their computer system. It was only when they went into the US site that they could find the info. I was told that they would check with Deeley Canada on Monday to find out what was going on and that I should be able to get the update at the end of next week.
Christian I agree with you that this recall/S.B doesnt go far enough since some of these bikes have been broken in,told to go to 1000 mile check by dealers on a faulty ECM tune. This whole thing woldve never came around unless sales, massive complaints, hand tied dealers havent pushed things. The Thunderpress article caught them off guard along w/attorneys asking questions.
I entered my VIN and I need the upgrade too, according to the MOCO.
IS THIS A MUST?
I have 1709 miles on my bike and get the 2500 and 5000 mile check ups free at the dealer. I put a Terminal Velocity II on the bike and it has run fantastic since then. No pinging, no surging, no excessive heat. I really don't want them messing with it because they had it screwed up to begin with. I'm pretty sure that even if they do download it the TVII will override it once I hook it back up.
Went my dealer today "Milville Harley Davidson" Talked to service manager He said he called HD and they told him any one with the sert does not need the fix. HD is supposed to officially anounce this.
I am currently negotiating a deal for an 07 RKC. I asked the dealer I talked to yesterday in KC. Mo what month the bike I was looking at was made. It was in August. Another dealer I talked with still had the color I wanted in the crate. Is this something that I need to have them fix before I drive it off their lot or will the new models in the showroom floor have this fixed already?
I picked my 07 Ultra up only 2 weeks ago. Mine was done at the factory. Runs great, no rocks at all. SMOOTH!! I guess I was lucky I had to wait for mine. :-)
e-mailed my dealer yesterday and got a reply today saying that my 07 street glide i got in october is indeed in the recall.
but he did not have details on what it ,the recall , calls for so he is investigating and will get back to me.
i am riding it to fla. in about 10 days so i hope i get it done if it is important .
