hmmm...........Lucas Oil Stablizer, Isn't that something like Slick 50? Would not use either one. Oil is supposed to wash the dirt and by-products off the engine parts, oil too thick won't do this.

.
I've never used it and the bike in the Avavtar has 95,360 miles on it after fueling up today, ( mostly Mobil 1 oils.) It still doesn't use oil between 5,000 miles services, ( 4 of those per year.) I replaced the tensioners at 81,000 miles last January.

What would be different if I had used Lucas? It would have turned 95,360 miles today, and the motor wouldn't use oil, etc etc etc.

I'm glad it makes some people feel better, I suppose.

I put it in my trany of my limited and this is the first time i do not have that noise when warmed up in neutral at all. I thought i just had to live with it but now very happy.
Just before you ask i have just about tried every kind of oil and weight with no real help. I now have Mobil 1 75/90 and 25% lucas
Try it for you self and see.

I used the lucas and tho it was most likely just bad timing but my oil pump blew within two weeks of using this product, will just keep to the redline from now on
Like I said probably had nothing to do with it but dont want to take the chance again.
Although good excuse for the cam upgrades, set of 034 gear drive liking the power it added to my stage one on 06 ultra

SNAKE OIL Period! As for the dry starts BS! there is never any metal to metal contact at start up, there is always a film of oil on the internals, if dry starts were a detriment almost all automobiles wouldnt last but a few years. As far as less drag BS again. I dont know how many times Ive played with that lucas gear wheel set up atthe parts counter that has a gear wheel with and without lucas, all I see is an enormous amout of added drag on the gears.
As far as quieting down the motor I doubt it unless its from all the gooy webbing across all the moving parts that may deaden the noise or the less output from the motor from all the drag. I guess there an *** for every toilet seat.
I will say my motor seemed loud this summer in 100*+ heat, I run 20/50 dino but next year I may try 60 wt oil. Im old school so thats my story and Im sticking to it.
Sorry couldnt resist sticking in my $.02 whatever floats your boat I guess.

I read an oil study a while back that showed the lucas stabilizer caused the oil in a dirtbike to foam. It was too thick and when churned up in the engine it would bubble. Granted, a dirt bike revs to about 11 grand, but nonetheless, when the oil foams it displaces the oil with air. Last I checked, air is not a good lube.

Lucas oil stabilizer is nothing more than thick oil. No additives. No anti wear agents. No friction modifiers. Nothing. You have successfully diluted your current oils additive pack and rendered it mute. I suggest gear oil bits cheaper. Lucas is snake oil in a snake oil market. Why not just go with a thicker oil to start. Then the additive package would remain consistent. If you used synthetic oil you have just taken 2000 miles off the life of your oil. I suggest you and anyone else who believes that stuff is worth a **** head on over to the bob is the oil guy forum and go into the virgin oil analysis page. And do a search on that junk.

100% correct. I laugh at that little wheel they have for display. Wow. Is that how a motor works. Cold plastic wheels spinning. Please. That stuff is great when the valve guides are shot and the crank bearing is missing a ball. Fills in the gaps of a cooked and toasted motor. NEVER EVER PUT LUCAS OIL STABILIZER IN A STILL GOOD ENGINE. And can someone ease tell me why oil needs to be "stabilized". Great marketing tho. Some uninformed people believe the commercials I guess. Junk

I really like this forum and am on here every day reading the Touring section because there is a ton of good info but I am always amazed at how many experts there are on any given subject whether they know anything about the subject matter or not they have to chime in just to be heard. This thread is a perfect example people that have never tried the product telling everyone what junk it is and they know nothing about nothing only what they have heard from some self proclaimed expert like themselves.
