I'm 6' 4", 300-ish. I did footboard extensions, 14" apes, and alternate between a Mustang Super Solo and a police seat, both with a backrest. Good enough for 400-ish miles in a day, beyond that and I'm not too thrilled to still be on the bike.

I'm 6'6" 210 lbs with a 2010 Limited, I went through 4 handlebars and 4 seats before I found what worked for me
Wild 1 577 handlebars, you need to go +6" on the cables
Ultimate 1 pce studded seat with backrest, Mustang and Hammock didn't work for me
Kurayakyn floorboard extenders that move the boards 1" out and forward
Long Ride Shield Ultra Flat top windshield 10", greatly reduced the buffeting.

A heavier fellow might be better off with a Corbin, they are one hard seat. I've had 2 over the years and my **** never got broken in, but heavier guys swear by Corbins

6'3" and 265 on a '10 SG

C&C fast back
Progressive 940's
Floorboard ext. 3/4" out

I'm way better than I was stock. I'm gonna do the floorboard kit that goes 1" up and out, and a set of 10" apes and hopefully that will achieve touring bliss.

Default I have a 2011 FLTRX

6'6" and 380, I ordered a C&C seat that i told them i wanted to go back as far as i could (i think that was 2 inches back and 1 inch down) This setup helps. I also bought the extended floor boards that moved them ahead 1" and bought the harley goodies extensions that moved them out 1". Hope this helps, not sure what seats are available for the Ultra Classic in the custom seat's as if your planning on the wife riding with you it's gonna take her room away as well. I ride solo! I tried the Tallboy seat but just didn't like the way if flowed into the rear fender on my road glide custom, but for you on a Ultra i think it would be fine as your touring pack is gonna cover it up. Zanottis $239 bucks and some change. Then if that still isn't comfy start on finding some new handlebars you like. Just my

6'5" and 280, ordered the tallboy seat with my bike when it was new in 2008, then had to buy another tallboy when the next version was able to accept a backrest. Although the tallboy set me back from the tank, it wasn't that comfortable and I could only go about an hour at a time. I tried having foam added to the seat, but it didn't make it any better. THEN I broke down and bought the Road Zeppelin...this and the backrest, in my opinion, is the perfect seat combination. Expensive, but worth every penny. My longest day in the saddle so far has been almost 700 miles, only stopping for gas and food...and I could have kept going....no more numb bum at all. In addition, I have rolled my handlebars as far forward/upward as they will go so they don't hit my knees in a tight corner, added floorboard extenders, and mirror extensions as well as the tall windshield to cut down on the buffeting. It took 3.5 years, but I finally got it right. Anybody wanna buy a tallboy seat? I've got one that'll accept a backrest and one that won't.

I know this is rather unconventional but I solved the same problem by losing weight. It's not that hard, doesn't cost any extra and will save a lot of money in the future. Btw, anyone need a 4xl FXRG jacket?

I am 6'1" and 315 lbs. I'm hoping to hear from others who are my size and what they did in order to get comfy in the seat.

Any thoughts?
I'm about the same size as you, 6'1" 280 lbs. It doesn't sound like he's having a problem with the seat, but the position of the back rest pushing him forward.

I've had this same problem if I placed the back rest mounting bracket (I have the standard back rest) under the seat in the wrong position. When I put the bracket in the second to last hole (toward the rear) it pushes me too far forward. I moved it back one hole (second from the front) and it works perfectly.

I'm a pretty big guy, and like to stretch out a little when I ride. I hated my Mustang seat, it always felt like it was pushing me too close to the gas tank. I switched to a Corbin, which got the seating position where I like it. It took a couple of months before it broke in, now I wouldn't trade it for anything.

same problem with you. sold the backrest and bought me a corbin gambler "dished out" and back 2" also specific for my weight. i am 6'2" 265lbs and my tail bone was killing me after 50 miles. i took the bike to a 780 miles trip down to north carolina and didnt care to stop. total of 2200 miles in 4 days with no problems and now im sitting in the bike and loving it.
