Default The King has a new pair of shoes!

Just installed a set of the Dunlop Elite series tires on the Street King. Was able to install the front tire myself and had to have the rear tire mounted and balanced, I got the old tire off and the new one half way on and hit a brick wall. Used dyna beads in the front (2.25oz) and a standard balance on the rear (4oz) the ride is smooth as silk. These tires handle great and the new rubber provides enough cushion to give me that new bike feel again. Beware if you change tires yourself get some good rim protectors the cheap ones rip and you will scratch your rim. Here are a few pics

I'm going to be needing tires pretty quick too... For doing them myself and using dynabeads, how do you know how many to put in?

Never had any experience with them before, and only tires I've changed have been dirt bike and bicycle...

thanks

That Street King is looking good. Slowly transforming mine to a Street King - got a SG seat and just picked up a "clean" front fender. Next item will be a fairing and then probably get some SG rims and tires.

The chart says use 2 oz per tire. I think this amount is a good start. However I needed 4oz to balance my rear tire and dont think two oz would give me a smooth ride on the rear. I would recommend having the tire balanced to get a ball park and then adding .5 oz more that that number.

Thanks. Perhaps I'll just get the tires on the rims and inflated then take them to shop to balance... Winter's almost upon us now, lousy weather is around the bend...maintenance and mod time
