I have these too! A must upgrade for any tour pak.
Like many things Harley does, the only logical reason they still use the stock ones is to try and double dip in the profits of forcing people to buy another set after just buying a $20k+ bike.
I agree that these are a great addition - really clean up the looks of the tour-pak. As others have said, be sure to use a sharp drill bit to avoid overheating the plastic of the tour-pak. About 45 minutes to install and well worth the effort.
Thanks for all the replies. I purchased them yesterday and installed them in the afternoon. I found the drilling out of the rivits on th lid the biggest pain the the neck. I used gorilla tape to tape back the rubber seal nice and tight to get to the rivits there. Ha my daugher help me wth the reassembly. Used red lock tight for all the screws. Sure is a big improvment. It seems very secure now and looks even better. Now the first thing I will notice on a bike is the hinges. The next improvement I was thinking about was the tour pak brace to replace the cable. Anybody have that? and how do u like it. thanks Jeff
With two bags and a rain jacket,I saw a lot of flex in the plastic when the lid was opened.Probly had about 20+ lbs. up there.
Didnt notice the hinges flex but the plastic around them twisted alot.
I replaced the oem hinges today with the Premium Hinges. Did the job by myself in about 1 1/2 hours taking my time. Straight forward project anyone can do if you just take your time. As stated a couple of new 3/16" bits will make the process alot smoother. A helper as stated earlier will help but I did not have that availability.
Why your in the process go ahead and put on the retractable tether by HD. Takes 5 minutes tops.
Here is a cell phone pic, big bang for the buck

Do the new hinges reduce the flex?
I didn't see the flex as bad. I think that really depends on the load that is on the tourpak rack. The real differences is that there is no play in the hinge like the cheap stock one.
