I'm new to the Touring bikes, but not to Harley. Even though I've seen hundreds, if not thousands, of Tour packs, I had never noticed those Fugly Hinges, until I got home the first time with my UC.

I have a set of the replacement hinges on order.

 

Does it never Stop !!! I had a couple gift cards burning a hole in my pocket....so...today I needed rear brake pads and while there, with the echo's from reading this thread last night fresh in my mind....Yes, I now have the new hinges in hand. Have wanted to do this for a year or so but never actually saw the hinges on the rack until today. Guess it was fate.

Just need to pick up a fresh 3/16th bit tomorrow and the latest upgrade will be complete. What next?

 

I have the lid brace from e-glide goodies. Definite improvement! Not as much stress on the lid or the hinges. Now I have to look into the improved hinges for the winter project list.
