Question tour pak hinges

I am interested in upgrading my tour pak hinges to the deluxe one. They look better and all but I want to know from someone who has them. Do the deluxe hinges feel more secure when you open the top as compared to the stock ones? As of now I have the stock and they sure do seem flimsy. The dealer really couldn't give me a answer so I didn't make the purchase. It is one upgrade I would like to do as long as it is more than just cosmetic. thanks Jeff

Did mine after reading so many posts from guys saying it a great. Yes, they are very sturdy. The only flex youll have will be from the ABS material of the pak and lid itself

Yes a lot sturdier..cast metal brkt and screws compared to sheet metal and pop rivets. Easy to do Search threads here for great directions so you don't mess up your seal or crack your tour pak.

More sturdy and secure. Easy mod to do. Make sure you have a sharp or preferrably new drill bit and the install is a breeze.

Best $50 mod available. Look great and feel sturdy. Read the previous threads to learn all the tricks to avoid mistakes. You'll wonder how Harley could install those cheesy metal strap hinges that the bike came with.
BTW the old hinges come apart with a couple of torx drivers. Not very secure. New ones don't have removable hinge pins.

More sturdy and looks much better and be careful when tightening the nuts , I've seen cracks on other bikes.
