Default Practical Alternative to the Sundowner Seat?

Guys, I love the seating comfort that the Sundowner provides for both the rider and the passenger, BUT...

I miss the extra legroom that I had with my stock SG seat.

It seems that the Sundowner moves me forward about an inch or so. Consequently, my riding position is akin to sitting in a chair, with my feet positioned more under my knees than forward.

Does anyone know of a seat that is as adequate and comfortable for the passenger as is the Sundowner, but places the rider in the same riding position as the stock SG seat?

Thanks for any help.

Have the sundowner modded by Mean City or another upholstery place.

I hear ya, but I think it's easier to buy (and sell) a stock seat. Thanks.

Fender...is the Sundowner wider in the seat for the rider for back support or same as stock?

If you want to keep the seat then I would suggest the Eglidegoodies floorboard extenders that move the floorboards out 1" and then add the HD floorboard extender pans that move the floorboards forward an 1". That should do the trick if you like the seat.

Port Dawg, the Sundowner has a deeper bucket, and is wider, in back AND front, than the stock SG seat. With the stock seat, I was easily able to flat-foot during stops. With the Sundowner, I can still flat-foot, but there's no wiggle room!

Not sure that I'm committed to the seat. It feels like I'm right up on the tank and I find myself trying to scootch back in the seat at stops.

I already have the Soos Floorboard Extension Kit (1") installed (big improvement), so the HD floorboard Extender Pans for the extra inch forward may work, if I decide to keep the seat. Good idea!

You may want to consider the Harley Hammock seat. If you look at it closely you'll see it's bucket is not so deep and it sits you back further. They put these on some CVO models. I've sat on them and they feel real comfortable, but have not actually ridden on one. The seat is $500 from the H-D parts book. I had a line on one for $300, but kept my stock seat. I'll see if that seat's still available if you'd like me to check.
