Unhappy Pinging/Predetonation

Need some advice from you tuners out there. I have an 09 Ultra that I had upped to a 103 stage II with 255 se cams and the sept. Bike ran great until it became broken in good and after about 4 k miles has started pinging badly on hard accelleration from 28k rpm and on the interstate from 28 on up. It will hardly do 75 mph the power has dropped so much with 2 up. I has NOT been dynoed. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I head to the dealership.

the Harley canned maps are pretty generic at best. A dyno-tune is in your future. The ECM takes a ton of timing out when a knock is detected, and the pre-detonation is a power sucker too. I'm betting the HD map has you advanced at least 2 maybe 3 degrees.

I'd bring this to the attention of the shop that did your work... what ever 'tuning method" they used, should be capable of working with the rest of the work they performed on the motor.

easy enough for you to say "hey we did all this work and the results aren't there--- I figured i'd tell you before people ask me how my expensive upgrades are working out"

It can be a challenge properly tuning a 255. They probably just loaded an existing map, rather than taking the time to tune your bike. If a dealer did the work, I can guarantee that your VE tables are off, your AFR isn't optimized, and your timing is way off.
