Limp Mode???

Limp Mode???
I was comin home from Tennessee today, cruisin along at a steady pace then we hit a traffic back up for about 15 minutes...very slow but not stopped. Temps were around 75-80. Once traffic started moving the bike started sputtering as I was trying to take off. I pulled off the road and cranked the throttle a few times and it seemed like as soon as I got to 1/4 throttle, the front cyclinder would shut down (no exhaust flow). It runs fine at idle, just sputters at 1/4 throttle or more. I was still able to make it back to Jersey from central Virginia, at 1/4 throttle (wasnt bad once I got moving). The engine light never came on. Is this Limp Mode, or is something else going on?

Limp mode will not go above 2K rpms, no matter how much you twist the grip. to get you home, best to turn the bike on/off 3 times and or shake the group of wires on the left side of the air cleaner (plugs into the throttle body). Known issues with that wire harness (either broken wire or pins in harness). If you made it that far on your trip back, it does not sound like limp mode. you can check your error codes on the speedo as well to confirm what happened

Well, turns out it wasn't limp mode...several things took a **** with the throttle body...replaced under warranty. Service Manager said it's the thrid bike he has seen like this recently
