The stock 103 needs a bit of a lift or more, it depends on what you like. I got a 2010 flhtk :
jack pot ceramic headers
klocks slipons
se air
tmax (ecam replacement)
woods cams 555

see you later the bike is a beast at 85 on the highway at 75 I can roll on it and she takes off. BINGO!!!

Ocean State Harley (RI) has a 2011 flhtk in chery/ Merlot on the floor for $22500 and thats b4 you talk price. These guys are generaly the highest priced dealer around. the two tone adds about a grand to the MSRP. I just bought a 2011 flhtk from Sheldons in MA, out the door for $21855. That was a two bike deal. Ask for Tracy and tell her Wayne set you.

So I understand in today's research from one dealer that if I do motor sup grades such as header pipes, tuner, ac dyno that they would be covered under warranty as long as done within the first 60 days after purchase, and would cover aftermarket dealer sourced items as well, as long as dealer installed. Then another dealers tell me that nope, any performance item put one by them or not that causes a warranty issues would cause that part not to be covered. Still searching for a better deal tan is being offered. I feel some loyalty to the dealer but, it hard to ignore and additional 1 or 2k discount over what he is offering. I don't really care if it's in accessories items or cash off really? I guess I make out better if it's cash off but hey, I think I cand spend 2500 pretty quick on goodies.
Cams, header pipe, se tuner ac and dyno tune, possible slip ons depending how sto k sounds after the cat is gone and it's tuned.
What do dealers pay for these bikes? Flhtk's?
Next piece on the list is helmets and some good jackets, more $$$$ woisme

If you can wait, hold out until January. I only buy new bikes. I only buy in January....I always buy Harleys and I always get great deals.
Never pay for delivery, set up etc...never MSRP...and get your mods when you buy. You will get big discounts on them and labor too.

I have owned a 1987 Heritage, a 1995 RoadKing, a 2005 EG Classic, and now a 2012 Limited. My wife has owned a 1997 Dyna, a 2001 Heritage, a 2007 Street Glide and now a 2012 TriGlide, so I have done a lot of riding on a pretty good varity of HD's. The Limited is well on it's way to being my favorite though I have only had it for a month and 1,100 miles.

If you want to run around town and show off, just about anything that looks good will work. If you want to get on the bike and really go places, the Limited is going to be hard to beat.

Hi Grappa,
I also consider the two bikes when I was in the market, I did end up getting 2010 Limited Sept.2010, I ride solo all the time, I'm single 45 year old and top it off back to riding after 26 years, I made my decision based on the way the bike looked and mainly budget, I originally spotted the same used bike on ebay for $23,000 bid on it, won the bid, went to the local dealer to get it financed, while over there dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse, so I end up getting it for $23,500.00, I have put about 4000 miles since and I absolutely love the Limited, see my profile for pictures, I hope this help. Good luck with your decision.

Hey, it's only money and I might as well spend it on myself before the ex gets it.
ssmith, did you buy in Camarillo? I'm going to Simi Harley tomorrow for the Ultra. Hoping to get out the door with stage one for $24,500.00. Thoughts?

I traded in a 3 week old 2011 Fat Boy Lo for a new 2012 FLHTK about 5 weeks ago. We bought the Fat Boy because we really liked the look and thought that was the bike we always wanted. After 3 weeks we logged 916 miles and it was clear that this bike was not what we wanted for the long touring rides. I returned to my dealer and traded it in; lost a little on the deal but we are extremely happy with the Limited.

1. You can look at the HD website and get the exact differences in the classic and limited.

2. I have the radio on everytime I ride. It is the stock radio, but I will be adding the SiriusXM radio and Boom speakers in the spring. We have not had a problem hearing the tunes at 70+.

3. The heat problem was very noticeable. I also got pinging from the exhaust on hot days at highway speeds and when shut down. Dealer told me that this was normal due to the EPA standards with the engine running very lean. I replaced the headers with VH power duals and removed the cats; added VH monster ovals; Arlen Ness big sucker a/c; SE tuner and VH throttlepak. The heat and pinging issues have been eliminated....keeping in mind that I am still sitting on top of an air cooled engine!

4. I have not experienced any problems so far and I have 1700 miles to date.

5. My deal was way different from yours, but I ended up paying $23,799 MSRP.

We are extremely pleased with the bike and our dealer, Lone Wolf HD in Spokane, WA!

Enjoy your new bike, hope to see you on the road!!!

The Saga Continues?
Spoke to one the local dealers who was offering 1 k off. But the upgrades I want are about 1.5 to 2 k and he's not budging, hasn't called me back to counter. Oh well his loss. I'm ready to pull the trigger and get this one done and dusted before the snow flies. So I've been calling other dealers with what I want, upgrades to motor, cams,( I think SE 255's) but not convinced, stage one ac, jackpot exhust, commanderV tuner, and some slip ons, either stock or ? Should the bike be dynoed after break in?, I regress,,,so as soon as I find the right deal, I plan on doing it right away, even though the little birds keeps whispering in my ear and saying, why now? It's cold let go to florida for the winter,,, all good points... We'll see sooner is better in. My book, but feel I've gotta get a good deal, this guy didn't even make a good offer. Keep ya posted.. Cheers any one care to share what they paid for their 2012?

Question More questions

Still looking but getting closer, can't decide on big blue pearl or midnight pearl? Also which headers, don't really like the look of the v&h x pipe headers, and trying to decided on cams, the SE 255's sound like the go flat to early in the curve, so not sure what is a good alternative. I would like to get all the work done befor I take delivery, but also wonder and assume that the dealer can't really dyne the new setup until after break in, am I right in thinking this?
