I doubt if you'll see anything noticeable. You will see your tq increase. It should pull alot harder, but will fall off alot earlier!!
Like you said,I doubt if the bad lifter caused a ticking noise.what did the rocker box look like? Could have been rocker arm hitting the inside of rocker box .

Huh? So a meaningful torque increase isn't something you'd notice? Have you ever ridden a bike with 255 cams installed? Nobody is claiming 255 cams are the best choice for drag racing or other applications where high RPM's are the preferred operating range, but in a purely practical sense raising your torque curve ~10 ft/lbs will result in a major performance boost where many of us ride. I don't know about anyone else, but that's exactly what I wanted, and that's what I got.

Out-perform in what RPM range and in what engine? In a drag-race, yes. Passing a truck in 5th gear with a stock-compression motor, likely not.

well...after talking to the dealer today..and by dealer...i spoke direct with the manager...and after them having my bike for 2 weeks today....and installing the new lifter and new se 255's....... my bike is still making the same loud ticking noise that it was 2 weeks ago...and they have no clue what their gonna do.... or what Harley will allow them to do now...they act as if they don' know where to look next...only that it definatly has a loud ticking noise....they are putting ANOTHER call into Harley to see what they want them to do next....i see a big screwing heading my way....mind you my bike is only 5 months old and has 6xxx miles on it....it didn't have this ticking noise when i bought it.....or at 1xxx mile service....mechanics have acknoledged that its making an unusual noise...but they can't find it....not to mention they have had my bike for 2 weeks now...and right back to square one.....turning into a horror story im afraid....said something about going back from synthetic oil to regular oil....but that will only mask the noise for a thousand miles and when the oil breaks in the noise will be right back...not fixing anything

The good news is, it's under warranty. Ride it hard, if and when it brakes, then, they can figure out what caused the problem. I'm just saying.

Great advice. Once it's broken they should have no trouble finding the issue. RIDE ER
