I ride with two different seats on my RKC. A Danny Gray big solo when Im by myself, and the HD Hammock whenever my wife rides, the most comfortable seat I have found so far. I do have Progressive 940 shocks that does sit the bike 1" lower. I do not have an issue with reach as I am 6 foot. Sit on a street glide that will give you an idea of the 1" lower suspension. Two up and fully loaded with the King tour pak we are close to 400 lbs. no problem bottoming out.

how long does it usually take to have a seat modified? Maybe I can let the new toy sit for a little while to get a decent seat...and what about cost?

We schedule all of our seat work and by doing so this keeps turnaround time to basically overnight, the seat has to be at the shop the day before it is scheduled, then on the scheduled date it is completed and shipped back that same day. The Super Narrow modification is $125.

well, looks like I worked a Reach seat into the deal (and it's basically free) so I can just ride around on that for a bit. I'll give you a call when my bike comes in. I can just sell it when I get the modified seat back.
