I am looking at the Arlen Ness Big Sucker or the Screaming Eagle Kit!

I know the Big Sucker kit can be bought on ebay for around 110.00 shipped.

I found the SE kit from a dealer in St Louis for 122.00 + shipping.

What is your opinion of either kit. I have heard that some have had problems with the big sucker kits coming loose, etc.

Joe
I would stay with the SE kit and have the download done at the dealer. I would also avoid the gray rear housing if you have the black motor, it looks odd.

I looked at a few including the big sucka, the K&N kit and a screamin eagle setup. I had the big sucka on my 96 and no issues. I went with the screamin eagle setup offered by fuelmoto (basically they use the screamin eagle backing plate and a K&N like airfilter) and used the stock cover. Will buy me a basic 6" round cover some day.

The Arlen Ness Big Sucker is a much easier install and has a high-flow, washable filter element.

$109 plus shipping at Fuel Moto, or
$116.95 with free shipping from Eastern Performance Cycles.

I took the stealth (or cheap) route. I bought K&N filter for the stock harley air cleaner. Then drilled as many 3/4". 1/2" and 1/4" holes I could in the existing air cleaner back plate. All we on the back or bottom, so you can't see them when looking at the bike standing near it. I did buy a stock back plate take off in Ebay for less than $25, so I could go back to stock if needed. I spent less than $100, the bike looks bone stock, seems to function fine in Stage 1 mode, and has a cleanable K&N air filter.

What I did is an old Zipper's trick, the guys there told me about years ago.
If you want the stock look, what I did is a decent option, if you want a different look, then what I did is not for you.

Default Drilled Back Plate, in previous post.

I didn't remap, but did add a Vance and Hines FuelPack when I modified the A/C.

I put a Zipper's Maxflow on my 2010 FLHTC, along with SE Fatshotz. I bought the Xied-10 but haven't put it on yet. I asked my HD dealer about the download, and he told me since the Cat is in the headpipe, there is no download available on 2010-newer bikes. He said if I plan on doing anything else like cams, etc then I would be better off to save the $150 and put it towards a fuel processor.

I sell the Ness kit for $109 as well. I'd get the Ness kit.

I ran the SE on a 08 UC and a 09 EGC. I bought the Alen Ness BS for my 2010 RK and my wife's Trike. They are almost identical, but I like the Arlen ness because you don't have to remove the throttle body bracket to install it. The filter elements are the same except they won't interchange. I had a spare SE filter and was going to use it on the Arlen ness BS backing plate. The holes wouldn't line up. I sold it and bought another BS filter. They are also cheaper than SE. I've had zero problems with the Arlen Ness BS unit.

I tried them both on a prior bikes. Performance is about the same, but I felt the HD was a more solid product as the backing plate is much more stout.

Over the course of a year on this site I spent much time wondering the same. I went SE becuae it is an HD part. I´ve not been let down, but there is always soemthing better. What matters is what you like and quality of the part. I like the SE. heard more negative stuff about the Arlen stuff, both are made in japan, if that bothers you, Doherty machine is the way to go, but it is $$$
