I have the FuelMoto offering the hardware is the updated SE kit. The filter element is Fabric (washable) like the K&N.
I think it was like $120 shipped to Texas

I have a power commander and am guessing I will need to download a map for the new air cleaner. Right now I am running stock pipes and mufflers, looked at all the maps available and don't see on for just the air cleaner upgrade. Will I have to remap, or will the ECM adjust for the additional air...If I have to remap, guess I will have to contact PC or fuelmoto for a map...Thanks for the input...

Made in USA is stamped right on the front of the Arlen Ness BS filter

doherty makes a great one that usually makes the best torque and horsepower. i can't remember what they call it, but it's very similar to the arlen ness big sucker, screamin eagle stage 1 air cleaner, and others. it does have a better intake venturi for flow though, according to american iron magazine. it has a snap in ring if i remember right. i'm using a stage 1 harley backing plate with a zippers 5/8" deeper element on my built 103 and it flows just fine. no oil drips, but that's not caused by the air filter. there's a myst free doherty product that'll cure that drip.

Joe, in a combustion engine, it is vitally important to maintain the delicate balance between air flow and fuel flow, known as the A/F ratio (air/fuel ratio). The rule of thumb is: Whenever you change the air flow, you change the fuel flow.

The ECM is capable of adjusting to certain operating conditions; however, I'm not certain of what those conditions may be. I'll let the experts chime in on this one.

You didn't ask about this but here's my $.02. I have the V&H VO2 naked which uses the stock cover, It has a K&N style, their own version, washable/oilable filter element.

I spent less than $100, the bike looks bone stock, seems to function fine in Stage 1 mode, and has a cleanable K&N air filter.

What I did is an old Zipper's trick, the guys there told me about years ago.
If you want the stock look, what I did is a decent option, if you want a different look, then what I did is not for you.
I did the exact same thing. Works great.

Your dealer is an idiot. Changing from stock to a highflow air filter does in fact require a download at a minimum.

As far as to the OPs question. I went with the AN because I could get different color back-plates for the same cost (chrome or black are additional purchases with the SE), and the SE uses a paper filter. Other than that they are totally comparable as far as performance. I have had zero issues with my AN thus far. I would recommend.
