you may or may not need the intake gasket. i've always bought it, but ended up not needing it. course, if i didn't have it, i would have needed it. yes, you'll need the breather bolts, the mist deflectors, and the standoffs.
For those interested we now have a new air cleaner kit doe 2008-2012 Touring models we are calling the Fuel Moto Pro Billet air cleaner. We are now using a CNC machined 6061 billet backing plate along with the same cleanable element we have been using in the past, it also includes a lifetime warranty on every component in the kit. We will be putting this on our website this week and I will also do an install thread on hdforums.
[quote=SteveinNKC;8983031]I took the stealth (or cheap) route. I bought K&N filter for the stock harley air cleaner. Then drilled as many 3/4". 1/2" and 1/4" holes I could in the existing air cleaner back plate. All we on the back or bottom, so you can't see them when looking at the bike standing near it. "
I did this and used a hole saw for some of the bigger holes. Works great and costs nothing. I also go to my locxal bike shop and pick up used- but very new- filters for nothing. They came off all the bikes getting the big suckers.

Apparently, I am missing something here: If you are drilling holes in the backplate outside the air filter, what good does this do. If you are drilling them inside the diameter of the air filter, then the air filter is usless. Someone explain how this helps air flow. The football cover dosen't restrict air flow..
