Harley Rep. idiot
There are two sides of every story . It also appears from the posts that maybe your dealer was playing both sides of the fence.
Then when a few on here question you, and suggest that maybe the rider could be at fault due to his riding style. Heck I have known people to ride there bikes like they are dirt bikes, they wonder why there bike is in the shop more than its out.
All I'm saying is I am sure there is more to the story.
But enjoy your new ride and hope you have better luck with it.
the deal they offered you in my opnion is great...yes you have been without if for 3 weeks...however you have put 6k worth of wear and tear on the tires, brakes, ect...the rear tire runs 300 give or take...im glad to see the dealer steped up to help...
fwiw i bought my road glide the first of may, and currently just clicked over 9k i bought the king tourpack for it, tuner, exhaust, air intake and mini apes. real money it was about 24k out the door for the bike and tourpack (i got 20% off the tourpack ) and i happened to be at a different dealer a week ago and they offered me a whooping 18500!
i of course laughed in thier face
but they offered my friend 12k for his 05 road king with 30k miles and pipes
all in all im glad they are making it right take the bike run like hell and hope it does not tick down the road...if it does start the process over again...youll have 2 years coverage
First off, I have to commend the dealer for it seems like they are sure trying to make a bad situation right. Damn nice of them . . .
Why do we put cams in them? I have to say this previous poster is full of crap.
I got the tuner/cam/slipons to enjoy my bike. I like the sound. Almost all vehicles could use better breathing due to the EPA rules. Why the cam? I'm not a small guy (6'3" 390) and my wonderful, loving wife has gained a couple pounds here and there also (but ALL in the right places.) I needed the extra torque to help pulling from a standing start. In fact, I had to take the SESRT back to the dealer and do the tune while I was riding because they tuned it while shifting from 4500-5000RPM while I rarely (VERY rarely) go above 3000 RPM while shifting.
So, there are legitimate reasons for some modifications. Some are just bling. For whatever reason, I just hate it when a Moco seems to blow off the consumer.
IMVHO . . .
