Got a 2012 SG w/ cruise today. Tequila Sunrise! I bought a sundowner seat, passenger and rider backrest, 4 point docking station and now on the prowl for D&D Fat Cats and an air intake system. Will pick it up next Saturday.
First time Harley owner now. Hope I like it!!!! I will be posting and reading a lot here so I can learn the ins and outs of these bikes.
One warning if you ever get any color matched options (e.g. Tour Pak), there are two Harley Tequila Sunrise colors. They are not the same. Don't know what Harley was thinking on that one.
They have different paint codes but the same name. The first was used on the 2010 CVO Street glide and the other on the 2012 models.
rethink those pipe and air cleaner changes for awhile---- just in case you have warranty problems.
If the dealer wants to sell you that stuff and says it will not void your warranty--- get that in writing.
Read over this thread, you'll see what I am getting at:
For years we kinda went with the idea that the bike was "theirs" during the warranty period, and then ours to mod after that--- but now that the warranty is 2 years it's hard to wait.
Don't want to bum you out, I've got many thousands of worry free miles on Harleys and the new models are really great machines.
Enjoy- Mike

As far as holding off on mods, no way. I will get my first service from a dealer then the bike will most likely never see a dealer again. I dont trust them to do quality work nor can I afford their pricing they have to charge to support the upkeep of ther boutiqes.
I cannot wait to do my pipes and intake. Thanks for your support. I hope to be a regular contributor here. Seems li8ke some good folks hangin here.
Congrads!!!!! 2 weeks ago yesterday I was, too, new to HD w/ my 2012 SG. Rode metrics before it and I'm not going back. You're gonna fall in love with that ride. Nice bikes.......
