Noserider, do your research on Dawgs post if you want. I've never met him, and I can tell you right now, if I was looking for info, he would be one of the first I would look to. He knows his stuff.
+1 on that. Dawg does know. And electradad knows avatars! BTW, a little pipe sealant on the tapered plug won't hurt. Don't over tighten.

It might be a good idea to get a factory service manual soon as you can, they are pricey from harley, but you can get them on disk for less. It will pay for itself many times over.

This just kills me. You spend big bucks on a scoot and then look for the cheap way out for maintenance. The factory authorized printed service manuals are worth every penny no matter what you pay for them. BTW, disk versions are bootleg copies of copyrighted material. HD only sells printed manuals.

I have it and I follow it. It does not mention the o-ring but I Did not take that as gospel since my kit came with one and when I called my dealer and asked they said it was for my primary drain plug which i now know is true for other year models thanks to DAWG the man. BTW I also did not see any diagram of the tranny and oil drain plugs and their location in my OEM manual. Now if there were only 2 plugs under the bike I would say no big deal but as you guys know there are 4 or more that look like plugs, WTF Harley??

Is somebody using that assume theory here?? Before I started my first service I read the manual several times went to Harley and purchased the gasket kit and fluids, looked for and touched all the drain plugs, torx heads, hex heads and purchased the tools I would need I did not have. Still need the offset 11/16 for the lock nut on my clutch and a Harley filter wrench. Apology accepted

No apology given. If you re-read my post, I was making a commentary to the quote that was in my post. I don't think that you were mentioned. Apology accepted.
