I have Tour Master Synergy 2.0 leather gloves. They aren't bulky, offer plenty of protection, and are good without heat down to about 40. So far, I have used them while riding up to 90 mph in 20 degree weather for several hours and have yet to set them above low temp. In trying to find some gloves that were good for cold riding, I spent well over the cost of these. Included with the gloves is a single controller, a battery harness and long split harness so you can wear hook these gloves up independently or plug them directly into a Tour Master jacket liner. http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/...orcycle-Gloves

Last January, I bought a set of hunting gloves made by Mossy Oaks at WalMart for $12 to use at work. I liked them so much, I bought a second set to ride with. 30 degrees (much less with a 70 mph wind chill) and my hands don't get cold after being out for a hour or so. The cool thing is they have trigger fingers in them. They also are comfortable on the handlebar grips.

I have to tell you, heated grips are really nice. I didn't think that I would use them but I was wrong. No wires, thinner gloves, just turn them on whenever needed. Mine are factory but you can get them from Harley as an aftermarket add on.
+1 on heated grips. I wear my normal padded leather 'winter' gloves, and the grips heat the whole glove up, no problems! Love 'em.
In SoCal so I'm talking high 30's low 40's at worst. I have to use latex surgical gloves to handle chemicals at work. I noticed my hands were always hot so I started wearing them under my HD heavy gauntlets and it works pretty good. Worth a shot for the price. They have a box of black latex at Harbor Freight for cheap...
