Wow, what a difference. Filled up my empy bike today, wasn't even thinking that the non ethanol gas was in season. When I started her up she sounded nice, I thought it was an echo at the station, but then when I took off, I could feel a notable difference in how it ran and accelerated. I can only assume its the non ethanol gas for the winter.

Ethanol sucks, plain and Simple.
Maybe I'm reading your post wrong. Out west we get ethanol in the winter which slightly impedes performance. Hardly noticeable as it's about 10%.
Ethanol may attract moisture but the effect is negated by it being alcohol there by keeping fuel lines from freezing. Sorry guys but 10% ethanol is government mandated by most states and provinces. And the price goes up because we use more oil products in the winter. Furnace oil, longer idling periods.
I think the op just got gas when the tanks were just filled and not sitting for an extended period.
And ethanol costs you fuel economy. No matter how you cut the dice. It has less btu's per drop than gasoline.
