My crotch cooler works great, belt fits perfect, so I'm sure what ever you come up with will work too. I agree with the ones who posted the need for a inside pocket.

I bought HD's version but they don't fit. I have a 09 Road King and these, P/N 58502-80C - Total 53.20. I have to go back to the dealer(Daytona) I bought them from cause the local dealer dosen't stock them.
I was in the JP store and they had some custom leather ones for about 100.00. When I go back I'm looking at these. Not sure who they are made by but they look better.
I would not pay more than around a 100.00 for something like this as it is used only a few times a year. I talked to someone who had them and they said they worked really good. Nice to have in bad weather.

Check out Sage Brush chaps. My bike has road pegs and fog lights (mounted inside the engine guard), they were the only ones who could make a pair to fit, 100 bucks with shipping.

I just bought Airlite chaps, and I have to say they fit ,and look better than any I have seen, plus the sides are open most all the way for highway pegs.
Those are the one in Keithhu's pics, they have velcro on the back side, and only one side opens up, so you slip on the closed side ,and the other side wraps around and you velcro the seam across the other side, then do the vertical velcro. The screen in the center doesn't hurt either , as it blocks water , and dirt off the front of the motor.

If I were to remove my lowers and put on engine chaps, I would get a pair like the ones I have on my Yamaha V-Star 1300 with a Cobra Engine Bar. Had them custom made from a guy in Canada (found on the web). A bit pricey, but they fit perfectly with all kinds of options for any taste. What I ordered was the optional cut out for highway pegs and the optional 6" X 6" pockets which no matter how large they are, they aren't large enough. An optional cut out on the top of the bar on each side for other add-ons like road lights. I like the hidden Velcro fastening, but others like snaps, Velcro makes it super fast to install. They came with a storage sleeve and fit in my bags perfectly when not being used. Might want to consider hidden heavy zippers like the ons found on decent leather chaps.

Also a vented opening that can be securely closed to allow air through on those days when additional air would be nice to have. Again, a snap/zipper/Velcro closure would be a nice feature.

Optional leather or vinyl type of material. Also colors besides black may be an option.

I would be interested in buying a pair for my bike. For the colder weather, I prefer a real engine chap instead of the fancy lowers on my EG Limited.

Price is a factor, but then again, you get what you pay for. Make it of high quality and decent workmanship and I will buy it!

make some designed esp for a Road glide. The turn signal mounts wont allow the use of ones designed for bat wings or Road Kings.

I like the idea of the opening across the top for added accesories like my bar mounted cupholder or fog lighs.

maybe have them also avalable without the cutouts for pegs for those that have no pegs on the bars . also offer an option to have the basket weave stamped on them like my crotch cooler
