Engine Guard Chaps.. Help me out..
I looked at Airlite as lots of water cooled bikes use them and I think they look okay on a watercooled bike with their mesh infront of the radiator. The mesh infront of an aircooled engine just did not do it for me.
I can run my Desert Dawgs year round as they direct the air over the engine.
I think Desert Dawgs is your competition for Harley's and Victory's. Airlite has a strong following on metrics.
I for one have never used the silly little pockets on the lowers and a would recommend a plain Jane version. Nice an clean inside for riders with big feet.
I like the way the Desert Dawg attach and unattach. Real easy and fast. That said they use a velcro strip at the bottom. Come up with a better design or use a snap like the rest of the Dawg does. I live with it, but it seems silly to use velcro in the one location. Never had a problem with it so it works, but a wrap and snap would give me more confidence.
Being able to carry them in the saddlebag is a good idea. I generally leave them on, but when I do that them off I keep them with the bike incase I hit a week of rain.
My Desert Dawgs are vinyl. That works fine for lowers and they look good, clean up easily and do not get wet.
