how bout pair for HD mushtache guard. i use my regular ones from my stock engine guard they just flap in the outer top corner. like to have a better fitting set that would look better.
I've been using the HD soft lowers...canvas type material. Had to make an opening for my highway pegs. Because they are adjustable they work fine on my bagger and my sporty for when it gets cold.
Would be nice if there was a pocket on the back side.
[quote=Keithhu;9017097]Here's your competition, FYI - http://www.airlite.ca. I frikkin love this thing.
Couple of pics:
How long did it take for you to get yours? I have had mine ordered since 1-25-2013 and I still do not have them. A Bob Norris from Airlite has sent me a couple of e-mails stating the tracking number does not follow into the US. Let me know??
I have the ones by Harley made out of nylon P/N 58525-95, and they work good on my bagger, they have the 2 adjustable clips that the unused portion stays in place with velcro, and they have the cutout for the highway pegs, but you have to have the pegs at the right height for that cutout, so that would be good to make one that the highway peg could be moved up or down and it would still work, and also a pocket on the inner side would be good. These that I have are very light, come on and off easy, and when folded they don't take hardly any space in the saddlebag. I use them when it's cold or when I get caught in the rain.
I've read that engine chaps in general aren't good to run as it gets warmer cause of the limited airflow to the engine. The airlites seem to conquer that problem with the mesh in the middle. Are the Airlites then ok for use in the warmer weather? I'd like to "put on and leave on" so to speak.
They work extremely well, have zippered slots for your highway pegs that allow for a large area no matter where they're mounted, and have very large inside pockets on both sides. They mount with a simple strap and buckle, install was about 30 seconds per side.
Gotta say, I can't imagine making a much better set, unless it was leather or a whole lot cheaper.....
I have had these Desert Dawgs on this bike since March of 2003 taking them off in the summer and the bike is now 10 years old and has 55k mi. These are the leather version of the Desert Dawgs I purchased through J&P in 2003.
