I use a Clearview 9.5" windshield. I'm 6'2". I have owned other Clearviews. I am thinking of getting a Clock Werks as well. Perhaps their 8" windshield.
One thing to keep in mind also is your height and the amount of air you like to have behind the shield. I'm 6'1 and for me, the Klockworks 6.5" put a little too much air back into my face and tended to push on the bottom of my helmet. So, I took it off and put on the 8.5". It made a huge difference and I love it!
I have 6.5" KW and I love it. The only reason it wasn't the first windshield I bought is HD said their 2 pouch fairing pouch wouldn't fit. Well it does, it just smushes the corners in a little, but still usable for what I use it for. I am 6' and with the stock seat it worked great for me. I put on my Mustang Solo seat and the wind started hitting me in the face again. Now I have two C&C seats that should hopefully make it work for me again.
I know! I know! I've been bashing my brains in trying to decide. It's not so much "seeing through" as it's ... the buffeting... the rain OVER my head....
If the 12" is too tall, can I return it for a shorter one??? I know you guys have a GREAT return policy...
Let me know. My bro-in-law is buying it for me for xmas!!!
Thanks So much.
Ken
Yes you can. It will come wrapped up in a plastic wrapping. You can install the shield with this wrapping on it. Check the sizing, make sure you're good. If not, yes you can send it back to me and I'll send you a different size.
I had the 8.5 inch Klock Werks and liked it fine. I think it was a little brittle though, and I got some spider web cracks around the two end mounting tabs. I swear I didn't crank the screws down excessively, but maybe so. Wind management was good.
I recently went with a 9.0 inch LRS in the medium tint and really like it too. It's just a bit thicker than the Klock Werks, and manages the wind a bit better (for me). Maybe the better wind management was due to the half inch taller shield, but I tend to think it's the shape of the recurve that somehow works out better for me.
Both are great windshields. The customer service that LRS provides really won me over - these guys are great.

Thank you James.
As you recommended going w/the 10" or 11" I have to ask...
If I were to lay my tape measure on the shield and follow the contours of the shield, is the 12" actually longer? Or, if measuring from the center screw to the top, it's 12" "as the crow flies?"
