Default Best Bars For Touring-FLHX

Just wondering if anyone has any imput on comfortable handlebars for a Street Glide. I'm 6-0 tall, 190lbs, Long arms,Long legs. When I ride long distances with my stock bars, I get a bad cramp in my shoulders and neck muscles. I was considering 13" apes...Any thoughts. Oh, I might mention I have a stock seat.

I've been real happy with Khrome Werks +2 sweepers for a couple years, but now I'm looking for something to bring me back another 1-2 inches without putting my knuckles in the breeze.

I'm hoping my ready to install KW +2's will do the trick. I'm 6'3" with fairly long arms. In theory they should be great...... in theory I'm also looking at some different mirrors and I bet I won't need long stems with the +2's ??

I have heard a whole bunch of rave reviews on the Yaffe Monkey Bars. 6' tall you should probably consider the 12" or maybe even 14".

Before you change the bars make sure you have the seat you want. The seat position changes everything. Sweepers might be too short, especially if you end up getting a seat that will push you back a little so you can stretch out some. 13" are closer to what you need probably even without changing the seat, they are just more comfortable, a little higher and you can lean back into the backrest (if you use one). The trick is finding some 13/14" bars without the bend that routes them around the fairing and with a good neutral wrist angle so you can lean them back closer to you. Make sure you are thinking of a complete riding postion system that includes everything not just the bars.

I just put those same 12 " bars on my SG!! What a difference it makes ...no discomfort or pain in my arms or shoulders!

Thanks to all! I really wasn't thinking about some of the stuff you guys mentioned. I am thinking about changing my seat. Although, the stock seat isn't that bad. I ride daily to work... Pretty much year round in N.C. so I'm in the saddle alot. I'm going to do some research on the Yaffe bars. I was hoping to keep my hands behind the fairing a little. My softail had 16" chubby apes...That makes for some cold armpits in the winter.

Mine are Cyclesmiths 13 inch apes and with my low profile Corbin seat they fit me perfectly.
