Question 16" or 18"

I am FINALLY ordering my Carlini Gangster Apes TOMORROW. Now for the only question I have before ordering, I am 5' 11", regular arm lenth and am pretty sure I want the 16" bars. I want the grips to be higher than my shoulders but not extremly high. I know I will get answers for both so if anyone has pictures of themselves on their bike so I can get an idea that would be great! I have a 99 Road King with no modifications. Thanks in advance.

Mark

Carlini Bars are know for being taller than stated, I'm your height and the Evil Apes (17") on my old RKC were great, but I had to lean them back a bit, I would say you would get the height you want if you went with the 16's.

Just my $0.02

Agreed. Carlini 16's are almost as tall as 18's in other brands. I think you are on the right track with the 16's.

Those are the best apes you can buy (looks and quality) in my opinion.

Yup, what the others said. Carlini's usually run a little taller. I can't speak for all of them, but the Flyin'/Gangster Apes definitely do. Carlini even says so much on the website.

Btw, I have a bud with 18" Gangster Apes on his 95 Road King. He's about 5'11''-6'0''.

Average build all around, and his hands are just above his shoulders, but nothing drastic. Make sure you get the 1.5" bars. The thickness looks perfectly matched to the Touring front ends...

Definitely am going to get 1.5". The 18's sound promising. I am going to see other posts and order at the end of the day. Keep your opinions coming and I will post pictures in a few days after installation.

18's are pretty tall. Might want to stay with the 16's.
