I have searched for saddlebags for my new Road King Classic(sold new ones). I am down to Iron bags or leatherworks, is their a bag that I have overlooked? It must be soft and not have plastic snaps(hidden or otherwise). I don't want to cut any corners here.
thanks, I need more pics of leatherworks
I'm thinking of the HD locks(or?) if they'll work on whatever I get
thanks
I just searched leatherworks dealers and my local leather shop is a dealer !, I'll take a closer look today
we do not like the plastic quick snaps and everybody else has factory bags, I would rather have heritage softail bags for looks.
selling brand new was easier than selling used
see my garage for changes in bike already, it will be mine just like everyone does!!! That was one of the reasons for parking the '99 Valkyrie, more available options to "tweak" a HD.
Iron Bags are top of the line for aftermarket bags, the Iron T will bolt right on using stock mounting , Take a look at what Boss bags has to offer as well, they are making a "50" that has a Springer look and mounts on the stock mounts as well.
I dont know if any of the other after market bags are going to be as large as the stock bags were or if any one else uses the factory mounting system.
" We do lots of custom options, most of which can be added to the Road King bags. We also recently came out with a new bag that works on the newer Road Kings, called the RK2, it is not on the website or in the catalog. I have attached a picture of it. So you can choose between the RK2 and the RK110."
Just looked on the Boss bags site heres a pic of their new bag for RK. They are an extended bag and can be custom done to your likes, basket weave , no weave etc.

I've considered vintage bags like these for my RKC. I've never seen a picture of any of these bags with the nostalgic saddlebag guard rails installed. I wonder if they would fit?
I bit the bullet and just ordered Iron Bags and their winter fronts, about 4 weeks, then a long wait till march !
there's a big car bike show in march on my birthday near my dealer, good time to pick my bike up.
congrats they are the best built bags, BUT make sure you use top quality leather conditioner on em otherwise the tops especially will look like chit, I used lexol conditioner available at most auto parts store. pic below is my ol roadking with the iron bags, I kept the bags when I sold the bike.
