i have a 2011 flhx with a 103cu motor.. the bike is pretty custom , plaine and simple i want more power so i was thinking instead of building the motor just swapping it out with a 120r.. my dealership told me it should put down about 135hp to the wheel. and the swap is about 6-7 hours shop time and with total cost with the extras and clutch and everything needed with labor in the ballpark of 7-8k..any comments or concerns i welcome .. thanks
Pretty much exactly what I did, seemed crazy at the time.. putting a brand new bike on the lift and yanking her guts out. If you want big power the 120R is the best value out there.
I know where you are coming from. Did mine last year and haven't looked back. 120R changes the bike and ride and made it more fun for me, espcially when I ride two up on my Ultra.
A roller 1/4 mile simulator seriousally, no offense but those things are way off in real 1/4 times and trap speeds. Now if I saw those bikes running down a real strip running 9.5-9.8 (which I highly doubt) then I would believe it. I would say if they had a slick tire on back they could run low 10's. But even still a stock busa with good rider can run high 9's all day, average driver low 10's.
The OP I doubt is out to challenge 'Busas for trap times. What the 120R will do is make your bagger exponentially more fun to ride. Good luck with your mods. I'm going bigger next spring, most likely a FM 107, but who knows, a 120R could be in the equation.

I completly agree, just didn't understand the "Here is a harley that eats stock Hyabusas for lunch" when it is a video of a roller 1/4 mile and a harley vs. harley. To claim something like that I expected a video of a Harley smoking a Busa down a real 1/4 stretch. Not that it can't be done, that video showed nothing
To the OP have you shopped around yet to differant dealers and indy's for a price quote yet? Your question answers will vary because differant areas/dealers/indy's charge differant prices overall. But if that quote fits your budget to spend then go for it! A 120r motor would be fun to roll around in. Just make sure to get a seat with a back rest on it, so you don't go flying off the back when you rip the throttle
