I was going to re-use the original pushrods and even Andrews tech said it would be ok but ended up using the adjustables so I wouldn't have to deal with rocker boxes.
It was my first time doing a cam change on a Harley but I had lots experience from working on Chevy V8's.
The Andrews 48 is a definite improvement plus I could swear the motor runs cooler with new canned tune from FuelMoto.
Wow this was a blast from the past!!! I installed the 48H cams with the stock pushrods too. Have about 18,000 miles on them now with zero problems. Motor is a stock 96 with a RB racing 2 into 1 exhaust. Runs great, Ive been very happy.
have 20k trouble free miles on my 48H on an otherwise stock 96 (jackpots / intake) with stock rods. My only wish is that the torque curve didnt fall off quite so quick, as Ive found I spend a lot of time riding between 3-5k.
Since the bike is so old at this point and I dont ride it more than 5-600 miles a year now clearly the only solution is a 124... cheers to the zombie thread!
