I cant say there is any cons to adding a security system.. mabey having to carry another item in you pocket. Pro's well that is up to you.. I personally feel more comfortable leaving the bike knowing that only I can start it. Still could be stolen, but not as easy as starting it up and riding away.

Question about the alarm..
My 04 RKCustom has the push button key fob.. I want to add the alarm and I seen that I could get a pager that tells me if someone is F-ing with my bike. Question is... does the pager allow me to arm/disarm the security system? Or would I have to carry the pager and the original key fob thing?

You have to carry the pager and the fob. The pager is just a reciever that recieves the signal from the transmitter on your alarm system. The pager is a great option that I highly recommend.

Thanks so much for your help I will be looking for an owners manual. I have been wanting to change that code for 2 years now. Thanks again.
1.)Set RUN/OFF switch to OFF... Verify that security lamp is not blinking.(vehicle is disarmed)
2.)Turn IGN key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON
3.)Press Left turn switch 2 times and release... turn signals should flash 2 times
4.)Quickly press the key fob button 2 times and release...turn signals should flash 1 time.

At this point (I think) you should have your previously entered code in your odometer display. Or atleast thats they way it works on my bike. You should be able to change it there too.. using the left turn signal to advance each number and the right turn signal to set it.

My scanner is broken [&o]

Manually entering the code to disarm the security..
1.) know your code
2.) Turn IGN key to ACC
3.) Hold both turn switches in until confirmation.. security lamp should blink fast

Enter the first number of your code by pressing the the left turn signal button 1 time for the number 1.. or 5 times for the number 5.. or 9 times for the number 9.. whatever the first number of your code is.
After you entered the first number hit your right turn signal to move on to the second number.. repeat hitting the left turn signal for your second number and confirming with your right turn signal.. until you have entered all 5 numbers. The security lamp should stop blinking if its all entered right.

I probably got something wrong.. but I tried
