So did you just "shove it inside the fairing? No issues with reception, etc...?I think that would actually give it a clean look. I considered T-bags but water proofing is a thing for me. A good liner will allow me t carry my stuff into the hotel just as easy. I am actually finding some good stuff after a day of shopping on the web. A-1 hardbags has the king tour pak, wrap around backrest, and top rack for under 500.00 (+ shipping). I am trying to figure out the speaker pods and the speakers now. Lots of options out there!

No. I made sure that the foil part of the AM/FM was flat and followed the contour of the fairing. It stretched from the middle up one side under the pocket on the inside.
This gave a long area for the antenna to follow. Now J&M does sell a Powered AM/FM antenna too (# FPA-HCFM). I bet it does have a slightly better reception range.
But I'm cheap and went with the non-powered antenna off eBay.
Like I said, I installed the J&M CB Powered antenna (# FPA-HCCB) too. I ran it up the other side. I don't get a long of a range as I did on my Ultra.
But I had the CB antenna outside on the Tour Pak too. I do get out enough that I can talk to friends within a 1/4 mile. So that is good enough.
Plus most don't know I have the CB and they don't try to engage in "Small Talk".

Hey - been awhile. Hope your holidays are going well! I found a tour pack with speakers and pods, a luggage rack on top and a wrap-around backrest for 1125.00 at robs used harley parts.com - shipping to me in Germany is 530.00 for a total of 1655.00. Does this sound like a decent deal? the tour pack is a classic so has the ant. mounts for the AM/FM and a CB if I add one later. It also has the rear lights (break/signals). It doesn't match my bike but After I'm done, I'm going to repaint anyway...If I do this, all I need is the wiring harness and mount. Let me know what you think.
It sounded ok until you posted the shipping charge, I thought the war was over, man too bad you couldn't find one in Germany. Hope it works out for you.
The war is over - now we just hang out in Kuwait in case the balloon goes up again or our year is up...Why get us home for the holidays when we can sit in a different desert for no good reason, right?
the main wire harness for tour pac is under the left side cover [ am/fm antenna; lights ], you will need wire harness for speakers if you are not getting them with tour pac speaker pods.
WOW! With shipping that high it may be a wash to just buy it in Germany. You can order it color matched, and be done with it.
I have a Nolan Modular and use a Chatterbox for COM. It all fits in there fine. You can adapt most helmets to work with what ever communication system you prefer.
