I get the same either way and this is over 16000 miles with about 6000 on and 10,000off on my 2011 RGU. I can say comfort level is much better with them off and the head temp is lower with them off as measured with my TTS data.

I am curious why everbody has to ask what difference does it make? the guy wants to know so why do people have to ask why he wants to know? Just because it does not matter to you does not mean it does not matter to someone else. maybe he is going on a round the word trip and needs to go 300 miles between tank full, it aint aways about $ there may be other factors involved.

Thanks everyone, I was asking the question because I just added lowers and noticed a drop in gas mileage. It was more then likely not the lowers but thought, what the hell I'll ask. OBTW it's not a money thing, it is about miles between fill-ups for me. I do a lot of back road riding and gas stations are far and few between. More then likely it's the new exhaust system and my twitchy right hand trying out the new power. did them both around the same time.

Why does it matter to you if everyone wants to know?

generally a less restrictive exhaust will increase MPG- but there are other factors-- such as a tuner if applicable.

I use XIEDs and noticed a slight drop in MPG, which is expected as I slightly richened the mixture- probably 1 or 2 MPG

I'm with you on the backroads- found myself in Utah BFE last year where my planned fuel stop was closed--- putted along at 45 MPH from there and managed to make over 242 miles from a 5 gallon tank on the Evo. ( after I'd hammered the first 120 miles) yikes!

I just added a set of lowers to my bike, but haven't filled up since adding the lowers. I'll see what my experience is like compared to yours. I'm sure lowers DO effect mileage (either positively due to better aerodynamics, or negatively due to weight and drag), but I doubt we can really tell in day to day driving. Maybe if we had EPA testing equipment.....

I have gotten my best MPG of 46.5 and my worst 36.5 since installing the exhaust. I think that on the open road it is way up and on the canyons @ 3 to 4 k rpm it is down. lots more power. It shipped with the wrong baffle Perforated wrapped and I ordered louvered wrapped. I think the louvered wrapped will improve torque down low. I will know this week. the 36.5 happened on the first tank after the lowers, but it was an all canyon ride and it was very windy.

I bet the mileage went down because the wind was less on you.
Then you rode harder and faster. lol
