I had the reach seat and didn't like it. Even though I am short, I felt it crunched me up too much making my knees hurt after a while and put too much pressure on the area where my pelvis makes contact with the seat. I got the sundowner. I like it. Not perfect, but I am not too close to the tank now. It is slightly higher than the reach (the only thing I liked about the reach seat was the height) but I am still able to comfortably touch the ground. Thicker soled boots help. My dealer let me use/try it for a week since I sold the reach and didn't have a seat to use. Maybe you can try it out and then make your decision.
I bought a reduced reach seat for my 2010 Ultra. I really liked it. My wife hated it. We tried an extra gel pad for her and a different widscreen too. We just could not find a good combo for her and landed up putting back on the stock seat. I lowered the shocks to get my feet to the ground.
I sent my seat off to Mean City Cycles and had it lowered 3" and memory foam front and rear. Under $200 for it. They can make it however you want. Workmanship was top notch. I also went with seat heaters while I was at it. Really happy with that decision since it was 30 deg this morning riding in to work.
