Someone give me a link to purchase this contraption without going through 102 pages of post to find it.

Go here to buy:

http://www.wardspartswerks.com/cooling-fans.html

As to the RTV - any High Temp RTV will work. I've been using Permatex Ultra Copper which is good to about 700F. That Black is good to about 500F I believe so either would work.

If you use the Ultra Copper, keep in mind it is Copper colored so don't "smear" it about. Once cured, this stuff is very difficult to get off!!!

Thanks for the info TXSailor much appreciated. I see that Jason is offering the temperature sensitive on/off switch as an option when ordering the FCS from his website. Did I miss something, is the switch now available and if not can you give us an idea as to when you think they might be available?

I Got 'em this week. Sorry I haven't got them up on the site yet, still working on the page, I'll have it done this week end.

As for the RTV, TXSailor pretty well covered it. The Permatex Ultra Black is good to 500F, with the FCS installed the head temps will not even get up to 300F, so I think the black is more than adequate and it is what I used on my bike, same thing I seal the switch with on the FCS. I will say that this simple little switch takes the system performance to another level. My prototype switching system came on at about 270 and then cooled back down, this new switch comes on about 190F and retards the heat for a long time, it also seems to keep the temps a little lower than the old switch, since it doesn't get hot first and then have to cool back down.

Thanks for the update Jason. Also while searching the RTV options available, I found that Loctite offers : Loctite 37467 Sealant RTV 598 Silicone Black 80 ml - Temperature range: -75 F to 625 F intermittent, found it on eBay for approx. $8 shipped. here is an ebay auction http://www.ebay.com/itm/140513771116...=p5197.c0.m619 for it.

Thanks for the alternative product link, I'm sure that is a suitable product for the thermal switch install. I'm not going to recommend anything more exotic than the Permatex Ultra Black, it is cheap, locally accessible at many auto parts stores, and a lot of folks will already have a tube, or partial tube in their tool box. Any high temp RTV will do the trick, so long as its rated for at least 350F.

This is why I join forum's.
This is an amazing thread, if this works and I am sure it will only improve over time this will end the longest running complaint about all Harley's on the road.

I just added this to my list of mods to do, its a no brainer, the cooler you can get your bike to run the longer it will last and better it will run period.

As I was reading it I started thinking about the extreme pc cooling methods of the early 2000's we werew doing while overclocking machines in a tim,e when it was taboo and o one was doing it, getting an 800 mhz pc run at 1130 plus without crashing and improving playability in video games by up to 45%.

a heat sync system with liquid nitrogen or dry ice or even a basic liquid cooling solution.

Anyway this is a great thread, makes me very happy to be here and a part of this community.

Thanks for all your hard work and efforts, I am an idea guy but hardly ever manifest them into reality, I lack the physical skills and knowledge and funds to make them happen, so I have a very high level of respect for anyone doing anything with their ideas and inventiveness.
