Ok, I finally got to see the finned bridges up close in person. They will block airflow, but it appears they could be modified to open the area between the fins, to regain most of the airflow, still going to be a slight restriction.

Good news for production: OL and baby girl are getting on a plane to visit Grandma for two weeks, so I can get a lot of work done in the evenings and weekends, goal is to get first run to the powder coater this week end, and get a good effort toward the next batch. I did a test assembly, everything worked out well, identified some fixtures and shielding plugs I need to work on, will finish out the test piece with a rattle can and post a pic soon as I can.

Hey Fab I have been following this thread and several others about oil / engine cooling. I am interested and really like your design. I know you said you'd be publishing a pic or two of a finished product but my curiosity is peaked. In the inital pics you posted it appears the intake screen and outer "ring" around the screen is unpainted or finished. Is your final design to power coat those parts too? If not can it be disassembled and those parts separated for powder coating? I would like it to be as unobtusive as possible. Thanks for your efforts man.

The first model was way smaller than what I'm going to go with. It was a 40mm fan and my rapid prototype design was a sandwich type, the polished aluminum rings around the screen were threaded for the backplate fasteners to screw into. The production version will look very near like the second larger, 60mm fan version, except with the micro toggle incorporated into the mount. I'm planning on a flat black to compliment the engine black and leave the ss screen to kinda match the silver if the contrast cut fins. The screen could be flat blacked also to make it a little less obvious. Hope to get my test piece done, and post a pic in a day or so. The small one works also, just not as well, it would still keep any bike from going into EITMS mode. If there is a demand I could make them too, and smaller still using a diferent technique.

This is one product everyone should be in line to buy! I know here in Texas and throughout the SouthWest; your invention should be in great demand!

I can't wait to have it installed on my SG and then go to my dealer ... just to rub it in their noses... you know, just to show them a properly designed cooling system lol

Default Commercial Version Preview, finally!

I knocked one out for preview, kinda feel like I owe you guys that much.
This is what your fan will look like. Only difference will be a quality powdercoat finish, I just did this with a rattle can, but its still going on my bike. There are a couple differences that you can't see; I went with a heavier stainless mesh so some idiot can't poke it in like a speaker on display at the mall, while they are checkin' out your rig, gave it a lot more clearance from the cylinder, and using a more powerfull fan. The fan is basically the same except it spins faster, so it has a shorter lifespan, I'm just testing it to see if there is any improved cooling benefit to justify accepting a shorter life. Also is a pic of the evolution of the system from the single raw fan I used to test the theory to the final design of the preliminary model. Sorry about the crappy light. I put Momma and Baby Girl on the plane this afternoon so I will get some serious work done in the next two weeks (after work and on the weekends, that is). When she gets back I may take some leave to keep the production rolling. Thanks to all for your support.

Wow, looks like a top notch piece! I have to admit I haven't followed this thread extremely close, did you mention a price you expect to charge?
