haha anyone else know what I mean?

Thanks for a great product.

Down with those ugly love jugs! Boo!
Valid consideration; however, someone could have the same ocd but reversed, when its turned off they want to know it wont pop back up and turn on again. I've had only one inquiry about a switch that "falls" down during operation, the customer never sent it back for repair so I cant really say what happened. I screened a bunch of toggle switches before I decided on the ones in use, they were not the cheapest but they did have the most positive engagement of all that I tried, unless the switch has actually been broken by using too much force, or pushing in on it, it will not accidentally fall down during operation. there isn't a Harley motor out there that shakes enough to disengage the toggle switch.

Installed mine with "travel tools" on my visit to Arkansas last week. It was very simple and the fan works great.

Side note - I stopped at Gateway Harley in St Louis to get a set of tires on my way home. I pulled the bike into the service area and shut it down. The Wards fans kicked in (creep switch activated) and I could see the confused looks on the staff and customers. One guy who works there got all excited and said something to the effect of "Have you guys ever seen these fans? They're awesome! We've been trying to get the guy that designed them to come here and promote them but he's really busy. They're really cool!" A group gathered around the bike and watched them until they turned off.

That was nice to hear. The guy was obviously impressed.

After considering the fans I have seen on the market I choose Jason's fans for the publishd performance data, loads of info on this thread, and their damn good looks. I also installed his thermal switch and a WoloBig Boy Max AND the stock horn. I had the same thoughts about the on/off switch (not OCD elated!) but more to the zipper concept..... What goes up, might come down! But no issues with the 92.3 miles I have on them so far :-/
Don't expect any either!
I figured out a mount using the exhisting horn cover, another round vibration isolator (from my parts bin/last bike), a piece of angle iron and a dremel....
I also was worried about vibration due to the weight of the Wolo and the angle it ended up in but it turns out the dual rubber mounts kinda counterbalance the assembly and there is virtually no vibration!
Others are right, it's kinda hard lining up the fans and getting the bolt tight while holding the fans and keeping them lined up. Took me about 8 tries!
But the look of the fans and their build are top notch all the way! Their function is as reported by Jason and many others here and I barely heard them until I turned the bike off (could be that loud blues music that plays everywhere I go! One burbon, one scotch and one beer..... Have to try riding without the tunez.... But I DO like the turbine whine they emitt when cycling after shutdown.
So I wanted to throw Jason a quick plug and a pic to say "well done!"

I'm just jumping on here to brag that the fans I bought from Ward two years ago are running strong and keeping my 120R in the sweet spot. I'd never by any other fans.

Your comment of "Their web site and videos are pretty convincing albeit quite expensive." I believe that you are comparing the Love Jugs price to the price of the Wards product.

The Wards chrome version @ $335 is actually more expensive than the mirror polished, all Stainless Steel Love Jugs, @ only 319, even though the cost to manufacture Love Jugs is substantially higher than the cost to manufacture the competing Wards product, Love Jugs sell for less. What's up with that? With all things considered, reasoning should warrant a higher price for the Love Jugs product or a substantial price reduction for the Wards product to make cost to value ratio equal. The bottom line is that the Wards product costs more than Love jugs. even though Love Jugs are far more effective because they are more than twice as powerful, cost more to produce, and will last a lot longer. Let's briefly explore the longevity issue.

The Wards motors spin at an insane 13,000 RPM's, yet put out a mere 56 CFM's. Love Jugs' motors spin at a far more efficient and much longer lasting 7.200 RPM's. Which motor do you think will out last the other? Hint: Wards fans are rated at 10, 000 hours run time, Love Jugs fans are rated at 20,000 hours run time. Which system do you think will be a lot quieter? Which of the two competing products will still look brand new 10 years from now due to the superior and stronger materials used in their construction? Which product will last longer? A betting man would wisely put his money on Love Jugs. Love Jugs are engineered for a lifetime of use.

Each of our Love Jugs two very powerful fans pump out more CFM's than both of the two small Wards "Micro" fans combined. Both common sense, and thermal physics will dictate that the more forced air you can direct at an air cooled engine, the better the results will be at cooling that engine. That fact is indisputable, despite some of our competitors attempts to convince you otherwise. That's why the performance comparison between the Wards "Micro" fans and the much more powerful Love Jugs system is so lopsided in Love Jug's favor.

In response to your comment, "Unfortunately the "Love Jugs" are manual which I think is a negative." We do not recommend the use of a thermostat. It would be very easy for us to include a $10 thermostat with our cooling system, and would not hesitate for a second to do so, if it could/would increase the performance or effectiveness of our product. The only time you don't need Love Jugs to be activated is when you are cruising down the highway. Your engine is pumping out a lot of heat every second that it's running. A steady cooler operating temperature, is far more desirable for you and your engine, than the hot-cool-hot-cool-hot-cool situation that will result, if a thermostat is used. All Internal combustion engines and motors require cooling at all times, and the only time your Harley engine is being cooled properly is when you are moving fast enough to create the necessary air flow to dissipate some of that heat. Love Jugs trick your engine into thinking that it's cruising down the road. It is impossible for your engine to overheat when your Love Jugs are activated.

I hope that I have addressed your concerns/questions, to your satisfaction, if there is anything else you might need clarification on, don't hesitate to ask. Thank you for your interest in our product.

Always at your service,

Steve

Up position is the proper configuration for a switch. Look at your wall switch. Perhaps a rectangular 0/1 labeled switch would be better though, or at least a label of on/off.

I installed the fan on my 1976 FXE Shovelhead (S&S 88" stroker) this weekend. I also installed the thermal switch. So far, very impressed with this fan. Cooled my engine down and I like that it continues after I shut the engine off. I never liked the heads getting heat soaked after it's off. It also keeps the fuel tank cooler after the engine is off.

I notice a big decrease in my oil temps. as well when running the bike.

Very nice addition to my bike!

I'm adding a Jagg deluxe cooler this week as well.

I added the horn back when I bought the bike. It has the standard rubber isolated mount, however since the Shovelhead is mounted directly to the frame, I think I will go with a solid spacer to replace the isolator. I don't think it will vibrate any more than now and will allow me to align and tighten the fan/horn combo better.

I like the look of the Ward's fans, they are smaller than the others and they do not take away, but add to the looks of the engine.

ha ha ha - how do you manage with the light switches in your home- US code is on is up.

you could always move to the UK where on is down.
